CERTIFICATION: Except for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) there is NO RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATION progam in the US for Loss Mitigation Services. Anyone who claims that they are "certified" loss mitigation or foreclosure consultants are a certified fraud. Anyone who is not a government employee (HUD Certified) or non-profit housing agency (Also HUD Certified) and claims to be a "Certified" Loss Mitigation Specialist is a hoax.

REGULATION: Loss mitigation is a NON-REGULATED industry except in certain states. These states require "foreclosure consultants" to be licensed real estate agents or attorneys.
